Research on luminous thread fiber dimension and yarn performance and fabric development

The basic properties of nocturnal fiber luminous thread, such as cross section and longitudinal morphology, infrared spectra, single fiber strength and nocturnal light properties, were studied. The single luminous thread yarn strength, hairiness, moisture content, heat resistance, acid and alkali resistance of nocturnal fiber dimension yarn luminous thread were tested. 

At the same time, the knitting surface of 16.7 tex nocturnal fiber dimension pure spinning yarn was tested. 

Finally, the luminous properties of the fabric thread were tested. 

The results show that the knitted fabrics developed by the night optical fiber dimension have good luminous thread performance, thick and broad fabrics, and can be used for the development of knitted fashion underwear and sweaters.

Night optical fiber luminous thread dimension is a new type of functional fiber with daytime light storage, night emission residual light, and long-term cycle light storage. 

The principle  of luminous thread is to add rare earth materials in the spinning process, so that the luminous thread yarn has the special function of night light. In this paper, polyester-based noctilucent fiber Uyghur pure spinning yarn is taken as the research object. 

The basic properties of noctilucent fiber luminous thread uyghur and its yarn are tested and studied. 

A knitted fabric luminous thread with air layer structure is developed using noctilucent fiber Uyghur yarn as raw material.

1.1 Section morphological structure of luminous thread

Neoscope JCM-5000 H Benicon desktop scanning electron microscope was used to scan and photograph the cross-section and longitudinal morphology of the night optical fiber dimension. The scanning results were magnified 1100 times. The surface of nocturnal optical fiber dimension is smooth, the cross section is regular circular, with fine luminous threads, and there are fine rare earth particles.

1.3 Single fiber luminous thread strength

In dry state, the breaking strength, breaking elongation and tensile length of the fibers luminous thread were tested by YGO04E single-fibre tensile machine. 

The pre-tension was 0.4 cN, the distance between the clamps was 20 mm, the drawing speed was 20 mm/min, and the average value was obtained 30 times. 

The test results are as follows: the average fracture strength is 9.60 cN and the average fracture strength is 4.17 cN/dtex. The elongation at break is 39.33% and the elongation at break is 7.87 mm.

Night fiber luminous thread has better strength, higher breaking strength and higher elongation at break.

1.4 Luminous thread performance

The luminous thread color of the night optical fiber dimension studied in this paper is light yellow-green. After irradiating the night optical fiber dimension under sunlight or lamp for 10-30 minutes, it is placed in a darker environment, which can sustainably emit light for 6-8 hours, and can be recycled indefinitely. The test results are as follows: average fracture strength 630.38 cN fracture elongation 190.58 mm average fracture elongation 38.12%.

The breaking strength and breaking elongation of nocturnal fiber luminous thread dimension pure spinning yarn are bigger. It belongs to high strength and high elongation yarn, which fully meets the requirements of knitting luminous thread yarn.

2.2 Feathers of luminous thread

Using the hairiness index, average length of hairiness, CV value of hairiness variation coefficient and hairiness H as evaluation criteria, yarn hairiness tester YG173 was used to test the hairiness of nocturnal fiber Uygur pure spinning. 

The test degree is 10m, the yarn traveling speed is 30m/min, and the test times are 10 times. 

From Table 1, it can be seen that the hairiness of night fiber dimension yarn is very small, the average hairiness length of 1 mm is only 10.60, and the hairiness length of more than 10 mm is not good. It shows that the quality of night fiber luminous thread dimension yarn is very good, which is beneficial to the later weaving process.

2.3 Moisture content for luminous thread

JA3003N electronic balance is used to produce the luminous thread yarn, and the yarn strength decreases obviously. It can be concluded that the night fiber luminous thread dimension yarn is acid and alkali resistant, but not strong alkali resistant.
