In July, China's textile exports maintained a rapid growth, while the decline of clothing exports narrowed
According to the recent statistics of the General Administration of customs, from January to July this year, China's textile and clothing exports totaled 156.48 billion US dollars, a year-on-year increase of 5.57% (in RMB terms, a year-on-year increase of 9.16%), and the overall export volume of the industry continued to expand by 2.4 percentage points compared with the first half of the year.
In terms of major categories of export products, in the first seven months of this year, China's textile exports totaled US $90.08 billion, up 31.25% year-on-year (35.84% in RMB terms), and continued to maintain a high growth trend, with an increase of 3.4 percentage points compared with January June. Clothing exports totaled 66.4 billion U.S. dollars, a year-on-year decrease of 16.58% (in terms of RMB, a year-on-year decrease of 13.8%), a decrease of 2.8 percentage points compared with the first half of the year.
In July, China's textile exports amounted to US $15.98 billion, up 49.98% year-on-year (54.5% year-on-year in terms of RMB). Driven by the main export products of masks, China's textile exports grew by 50% or more for four consecutive months.
China's clothing export situation has improved compared with previous months. In July, the clothing export volume was 15.32 billion US dollars, with a year-on-year decrease of 5.6% (in RMB terms, the year-on-year decrease was 2.77%). At present, we are observing a trend. As China's epidemic situation has been effectively controlled in the world at the earliest time and the production order has been restored quickly, compared with other countries and regions, the supply chain of the industrial chain is more stable, and the orders begin to flow back. However, what needs to be tracked and observed is whether this trend will continue.
