1、 The prevention and control of the epidemic situation shows its skills and helps the industry recover.

Since the outbreak of novel coronavirus pneumonia, medical and health textiles represented by "Mask" and "protective clothing" have become the focus of global attention. A group of researchers from Wuhan Textile University "assembled urgently" on the shortage of meltblown cotton to provide scientific and technological decision-making consultation for the Ministry of industry and information technology; A group of experts urgently engaged in scientific research and research, developed new high-efficiency protective materials, harmful substance detection test paper and other technical products, and a number of technical achievements such as masks with sterilization and anti-virus function, protective clothing with high-efficiency virus isolation, self-test test paper at home and other technical achievements were transformed in Hubei; A group of teachers actively connected with alumni and enterprises, and established technical cooperation relations with medical enterprises such as Hengtian Jiahua, Zhongwei medical and Hubei Hongyu, which helped enterprises to change production and increase production, and provided "armour" and "battle Robe" for epidemic prevention and control. The robust medical group, led by Li Jianquan, an outstanding alumnus of the school, has seven production bases in Hubei, including Huanggang, Jingmen, Chongyang and Jiayu. With the rise of new frontier disciplines such as materials, the scientific research and application fields of "modern textile" represented by medical and health textiles continue to expand. Wuhan Textile University has strong strength in the field of artificial heart valve, small caliber artificial blood vessel, high-end medical dressing, artificial bone, industrial textiles such as military aerospace, energy-saving and environmental protection, intelligent wear and other industrial textiles, etc., and has strong strength in the whole industry such as fiber-based basic research, preparation technology, molding technology, application promotion, product design, etc.

In 2009, "embedded composite spinning technology and its industrialization" (referred to as "Xu Ruyi spinning") developed by Professor Xu Weilin of Wuhan Textile University won the first prize of national science and technology progress award, realizing the "zero breakthrough" of the award in textile industry and Hubei provincial universities. However, due to the fact that Shandong Ruyi group is the main body of the technical cooperation research and development and transformation and utilization, it objectively leaves a regret that "flowers bloom in the wall and fragrance outside the wall".

The platform is positioned to serve the development and progress of local social economy and textile industry in Hubei Province. In the research direction, the platform is complementary to other national scientific research platforms in the same industry, laying a solid foundation for the development of Frontier basic research and applied basic research in the future. Professor Xu Weilin is the director of the laboratory, and Mei SHUNQI, academician of the Russian Academy of natural sciences, is the deputy director of the laboratory. In 2019, the research team won the second prize of national science and technology progress award.

A gilded signboard of the State Key Laboratory of the Ministry of construction was attracted by "Wutong tree" and "Golden Phoenix". Wuhan Textile University gathered a number of leading talents such as Xu Weilin, Yangtze River scholar, and produced high level achievements of the national science and Technology Progress Award and the National Technological Invention Award. It is the first to be approved as the "thousand talents plan" of the Central Organization Department, and the first batch to be awarded the overseas high-level talent innovation base. At present, there are 7 academicians and foreign academicians working in the University for a long time, more than 10 national talents and more than 150 provincial talents of various types. On this basis, the university has carried out in-depth activities such as "one province, one demonstration", "one city, one project", "one hundred entrepreneurs entering the campus" and "one hundred doctors entering enterprises". It has continuously strengthened the cooperation between industry, University and research, accelerated the transformation of scientific research achievements, and changed technical services into strategic services.

Hubei is also a major textile Province in China, and many of our polyester yarns are also produced in Hubei.
